Durante todo el mes de Noviembre de 2012 estaremos emitiendo Duration | One month, resultado de la colaboración entre el proyecto Security Device y metaminaFNR.

Duration | One month es parte de la serie Duration, donde sólo se ha usado una selección de 60 extractos de grabaciones de máquinas de la fábrica AE Harris en Birmingham – UK, y que fueron también la materia prima para el cassette publicado recientemente Machine Pattern # 01. Estos extractos tienen una duración diferente, desde 00:01 (00:02, 00:03…) hasta 00:60 segundos, y que serán mezclados gracias a un script que tenemos corriendo en el servidor.

A nivel de programación hemos dividido los 60 archivos en 6 grupos de 10, cada uno de estos grupos esta asociado a un reproductor, lo que escuchamos es la superposición de los 6 reproductores. La naturaleza orgánica de esta mezcla final la conseguimos creando huecos de silencio mediante una espera al final de cada reproducción, que varia aleatoriamente de 666 a 30000 mili-segundos y por el propio material de los archivos, con esto conseguimos temporalidades en la mezcla final de distinta densidad.

Throughout the month of November 2012 we are going to emit Duration | One month, result of the collaboration between the project Security Device and metaminaFNR.

Duration | One month is part of the Duration series, where has been used only a selection of 60 excerpts from sound recordings of AE Harris Factory's machines in Birmingham - UK, and were also the raw material for the recently released cassette Machine Pattern # 01. These extracts have a different duration, ranging from 00:01 (00:02, 00:03….) 00:60 seconds, and will be mixed by a script that we have running on the server.

In the programming level we divided the 60 files in 6 groups of 10, each of these groups is associated with a player, what we hear is the superposition of the 6 players. The organic nature of this final mixture got it by creating gaps of silence waiting at the end of each play, which varies randomly from 666 to 30000 milliseconds and by the nature of the material itself, with this we get temporalities in the final mix of different density.
